Naestved and surroundings
Naestved is a town, founded during medieval times and today, it is the biggest city on Southern Zealand. Scattered around town you’ll find murals and art-installations.
A 30 minute drive from Naestved, is Camp Adventure. Do visit the Forrest Tower; On a clear day, the view from the 45metres tower is gorgeous.
Groennegades Kaserne Kulturcenter, in the heart of Naestved, is the venue for concerts, stand-up comedy and lectures.
Holmegaard Vaerk, which used to be a glass production plant, has opened as a museum, just outside Naestved.
Gavnø Castle is a 15 minute drive from Naestved. Every year, the castle hosts Denmark’s biggest Tulip Festival during spring, and a Christmas market in November.
Herlufsholm is a beautiful green oasis in the city. It is a popular spot with locals. It is also the oldest boarding school in Denmark, dating 450 years back.
From April to October, there is a daily cruise from Naestved Harbour to Eno (a popular tourist area with an incredible beach) and Gavnø Castle.
Eating
Restaurant Flammen offers a meat buffet, with exotic meats like kangaroo. You can also get lam or ox. Located on Jernbanegade 8A, in central Naestved.
Dhaba Kitchen is an Indian restaurant which reminds me of my time in London. You can order a tasting menu which can be refilled all night. The menu has many Indian favourites, e.g. butter chicken. Located on Sct Peders Kirkeplads 1, central Naestved.
Tatami Sushi serves sushi ad libitum but also offers Japanese dishes. Location: Brogade 7, 4700 Naestved.
Restaurant Mona Lisa makes classic Danish sandwiches and amazing desserts. The main attraction for me is hands down, the Colorado Steak ad libitum.
Colorado Steak, barbeque ribs, backed potato, pommes frites, sauce bordelaise & sauce béarnaise + salad bar. If you leave there hungry, it is your own fault. Location: Sct Joergens Park 34, 4700 Naestved.
Café Pyramiden makes the best pizza in town. And has a broad menu. Location: Sct Joergens Park 34, 4700 Naestved.
