Aarhus
ARoS is synonymous with Aarhus, and the rainbow on top of the roof is an interesting experience. I am very scared of heights, so I only did 1 lap. Luckily, the pictures came out great, so I didn’t need to do any more laps, haha.
Another attraction, most people think of when talking about Aarhus, is the Old Town Museum. I was there to explore the newest block from the 1970’s. That’s when my parents were young. It was exciting to see it with them.
On the main street is the Salling, a shopping mall, which has a roof top terrace. From here you get a spectacular view of Aarhus, even in grey weather. Salling Rooftop is a must see.
In an old bus garage is Aarhus Street Food. The many stalls serve food from all over the world, and it is such a cosy experience. I chose Indian and it was spicy so I was sweating a bit, but it was so worth it.
The capitol of Jutland
The Latino Quarters around the Cathedral is a cobble stone area with tiny houses. If you want a coffee at the hippest café, go to La Cabra. People will actually wait outside in the rain for a table, it’s that good.
Bronuts serve up the most legendary donuts. They are superior to any other donuts.
The never ending bridge is worth a visit. It is a circular jetty, hence the never ending part. I would have preferred a railing when walking across the part hovering over the ocean, because the water level is quite high. Again, my fear of heights was a limitation. I only completed 1 lap. It is a beautiful area and you can see the skyline of Aarhus.
I stayed at Nilles Kro, just outside Aarhus. My stay included a 3 course meal every night. The food was very good and the service was great. The room was nice and it was easy to drive to Aarhus. See some of the food in the gallery below.
