Le Mans
The city of Le Mans in France is probably most famous for the 24-hour race. Every year, the race attracts racing fans from around the world; USA and Great Britain, in particular.
The 24-Hour Race of Le Mans is the toughest race in the world, because a team has to keep driving their car round the track for longer than the competition, for 24-hours straight.
It is an accomplishment in itself to finish the race, because the race is so challenging.
The night before the race, every team is presented during a parade through Le Mans city center, which is very exciting. Everything is in French, though.
A must for racing fans
I was very fortunate to experience the 24-Hour race of Le Mans and I will recommend it to all racing fans.
I travelled with a Danish company, K-Rejser, founded by the racing legend, “Mr. Le Mans”, Tom Kristensen’s brother, Jacob. I had access to the stands during trial runs, and the day before the race, the pit lane was open to the public.
Jan Magnussen, the long-time Corvette driver, came by our camp for a meet & greet.
Tom Kristensen also came by for a Q&A and autograph session. It was very interesting to listen to both of them.
